The Case for Heating Your Pool

Months More of Use

A properly heated Hamptons pool can run from early April through November, versus the July–August window an unheated pool delivers. With the right system, that's months more of weekend use a year, on your schedule rather than the weather's.

Higher ROI for the Property

Heated pools are an expected feature in high-end Hamptons rentals and command meaningfully higher rates. For investment properties, heating typically pays for itself in rental premium within one or two seasons.

Always Ready When You Are

A heated and automated pool is always at the right temperature when you arrive: no waiting, no planning around the weather. The pool is never the variable when you host guests. That reliability is what the investment is actually buying.

From Assessment to First Swim.

Adding heating to your pool is simpler than you'd expect. Here's how it works.

  1. 01

    Pool Assessment

We assess your pool size, usage patterns, and existing equipment to recommend the right heating system for your property.

  2. 02

    System Recommendation

You receive a clear proposal covering system type, installation scope, expected season extension, and cost. No technical jargon.

  3. 03

    Installation

Our team handles the full installation, equipment integration, and automation setup. Most installs are completed in a single visit.

  4. 04

    Ongoing Care

Seasonal winterization and summerization, propane delivery coordination, and integration with your existing service plan, all handled.

15 years of great service. In addition to great humans, I really appreciate the volume of equipment they have on stock and their relationships with the manufacturers when warranty issues come up. Those warranty claims have come up big for me.

I had a fantastic experience with Tortorella Pools. Their customer service was prompt and clear, and their team was quick and clean — you would never even know they were onsite to service the pool. Thanks to them, we had a wonderful summer.

FAQs

Adding heating is one of the highest-impact decisions a Hamptons pool owner can make. If you don't see your question here, your future account manager will walk you through it on the call.

Inquire

For a Hamptons property, the two primary options are gas and propane heaters, with solar as an occasional supplement. Gas and propane heat quickly and reliably, which makes them the right choice for shoulder-season use and fast warm-ups. Solar is rarely the right primary system on the East End, but it can offset operating cost when paired with another heater. The right answer depends on your pool size, usage pattern, and existing equipment, so we start with an on-site assessment rather than committing to a recommendation in advance.

Automated. We monitor tank levels remotely and deliver before you run low. There's nothing for you to schedule, track, or call about. Deliveries are timed around your usage curve so the tank stays in a healthy range without anyone having to think about it. If your usage pattern changes (a long house party, an early-spring warm-up, an extended autumn), we adapt the cadence. Emergency top-ups are available the same week if something unusual happens.

We winterize it. Heater winterization is part of our standard fall pool closing and includes draining, line-blowing, and isolating the unit so freeze damage isn't a risk. In the spring we reverse the process: summerization checks gas pressure, electrical, and ignition, then brings the unit back online before the first scheduled use. For year-round service clients, this is included; for heating-only clients, it's an annual service add-on.

Yes, and for many properties the spa heater is a separate decision from the pool heater. We commonly install, service, and integrate dedicated spa heaters alongside the main pool system. The two can be controlled independently or together via the same automation, so the spa can stay hot year-round while the pool runs on a different schedule.

Most heater installs are completed in a single visit once the unit and parts are on-site. Replacements on existing infrastructure are usually a day's work; first-time installations that need new gas lines, electrical, or a propane tank can take two to three days depending on what the property already has. We schedule installs around your season; most new clients install in the off-season so the system is online before the first warm weekend.

Yes, and it's the easiest path. Your existing account manager handles the assessment, install, and ongoing care without any new paperwork. Heating folds into the same monthly relationship you already have, and propane delivery (if you choose it) goes on the same account.

While You're Here

Heating works best as part of a complete service relationship.

Heater winterization, summerization, and propane coordination are already part of our maintenance service plans. If you're not yet a Tortorella service client, this is the natural next step: one team, one account manager, one point of contact.
