The Case for an Outdoor Sauna.

A Property Amenity That Earns Its Place

Unlike a pool, a sauna is used in any season. It keeps the property active and enjoyable well past Labor Day. This is the investment that pays off in November just as much as July.

Property Value & Rental Premium

Wellness amenities are increasingly expected at the top end of the Hamptons rental and resale market. A quality outdoor sauna differentiates the property and commands a measurable premium.

Craftsmanship That Holds Up

Wellhouse structures use thermally modified materials engineered for outdoor, year-round use, built for Canadian winters and more than capable of Long Island's climate.

What Our Clients Say

We have been using Tortorella Service for 7 years now. They completely transformed our old pool and patio into what friends tell us is like a resort. We use full season and off season service and our pool always looks fantastic. The service guys are so knowledgeable and care so much about our pool.

Robert Stier

15 years of great service. In addition to great humans, I really appreciate the volume of equipment they have on stock and their relationships with the manufacturers when warranty issues come up. Those warranty claims have come up big for me.

Matthew Daimler

Service client · 15 years

I had a fantastic experience with Tortorella Pools. Their customer service was prompt and clear, and their team was quick and clean — you would never even know they were onsite to service the pool. Thanks to them, we had a wonderful summer.

Shelley Barstow

The Complete Outdoor Experience

The pool and the sauna, managed by the same team.

For Tortorella pool clients, a sauna is the natural complement, managed by the same team that already knows your property. For new clients, this is what a complete Tortorella relationship looks like.

FAQs

Adding an outdoor sauna is a significant investment. If you don't see your question here, your account manager will walk you through it on the call.

Inquire

It depends on the township. Permitting requirements vary across East Hampton, Southampton, Sag Harbor, and the villages; some treat an outdoor sauna as an accessory structure, others fold it into the same review as a pool house. We handle the permitting question directly during the site assessment so you have a concrete answer for your specific address before you commit. We don't make blanket guarantees on this. It's the one piece that has to be confirmed property-by-property.

Electrical only. Wellhouse units run on a dedicated 240V circuit; the exact amperage depends on the heater you choose. No gas, no plumbing, no water hookup. We assess the electrical run during the site visit. If the property already has the right service nearby, the install is fast; if a new circuit needs to be pulled, that's part of the install scope.

Yes. Wellhouse builds for Canadian winters: thermally modified exteriors, sealed panoramic glass, weather-rated hardware. A Long Island winter is well inside the operating envelope. Year-round use is actually where these units earn their place: the property stays active in the months when the pool is closed.

Yes, every model is fully customizable. You choose exterior cladding, interior wood finish, and heater (electric or wood-burning, with three heater outputs available depending on model). We walk through every option during the assessment, including which combinations work best for your usage pattern and property aesthetic.

The Wellhouse unit ships complete: structure, heater, benches, lighting, and finish work. Tortorella's scope covers site prep, foundation pad if needed, delivery coordination, on-site installation, and electrical connection. The homeowner provides the location and electrical service to the property; everything from there is us.

It's the easiest path. Your existing account manager handles the assessment, install, and any post-install support: no new paperwork, no new point of contact. The sauna folds into the same relationship you already have, which is exactly the point.

Yes. This is one of the strongest reasons to pair a sauna with an existing pool. The hot-then-cold cycle is the wellness ritual most of our clients adopt within the first few weeks. Placement matters: we plan the sauna's location during the site assessment so the walk between the sauna and the pool is short, safe, and considered as part of the design. The sequence works year-round.

The four models differ primarily in exterior cladding and aesthetic; interior construction and heater options are largely shared. The SugarCube uses non-fading white aluminum; the PepperCube uses black aluminum; the IceCube uses a mirrored finish that reflects the surrounding landscape; the ShadowCube uses thermally modified wood with a Shou Sugi Ban-inspired pattern. Sizing (6′×6′, 6′×8′, 8′×8′) and interior finish selections are available across all four. We walk through the right fit for your property during the site visit.

Wellhouse provides a manufacturer warranty on the structure, heater, and components. We share the current terms in writing during the inquiry process. Day-to-day maintenance is minimal: a wipe-down of the interior wood, periodic checks of the heater, and a seasonal inspection of seals and exterior finish. Existing Tortorella service clients can fold sauna check-ins into the same property visits, with no separate scheduling required.
